No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify, the process, and what occurs if you don't meet the criteria.
Many carriers have introduced fast-track underwriting: within age and coverage limits, carriers render decisions from application data, prescription records, driving history and other sources instead of a physical. Approvals can arrive within hours. This site's quotes note which carriers require exams, which might, and which do not for each offer.
What it changes
No-exam underwriting still means verification. Policies built on false information can be challenged during the first two years. If the carrier's records raise concerns, an exam or lab tests might be asked for anyway; you choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually those under about 60 years old seeking coverage within the carrier's fast-track cap, with no serious health issues and no tobacco use during the past year. Carriers may also use results from a recent physical exam with bloodwork as a substitute for a new one.
If an exam is required, the paramedical examiner typically comes to your home or office in the Cerritos area for a 20–30 minute visit—free of charge. A good exam outcome can actually move applicants into a better rate category, so it's not always unfavorable.
